Iverhart Plus for dogs is used to prevent heartworms, while also controlling hookworms and roundworms in dogs 6 weeks and older. Iverhart Plus (ivermectin/pyrantel) is a generic equivalent to Heartgard Plus. Iverhart Plus contains the same active ingredients and is the same strength, but is pork liver flavored as opposed to the beef flavoring of Heartgard Plus. Iverhart Plus is given monthly, and uses its anthelmintic (deworming) properties, and the active ingredient pyrantel pamoate, to treat and control hookworms and roundworms in dogs. 6 monthly doses will protect your dog for a whole 6 months!

Side effects are rare and may include limpness, lathargy, shaking, salivation, decreased appetite, diarrhea, belching, and licking lips. Iverhart Plus is not to be used while your dog is on another heartworm medication.
