Sentinel for Dogs

Sentinel is the only oral preventive, administered monthly, that will guard your dog 4 weeks or older against heartworms, adult hookworms, adult roundworms and whipworms, all the while preventing the development of flea eggs! A prescription from your veterinarian is required to purchase Sentinel.
One of two active ingredients, Milbemycin oxime will destroy the tissue stage of heartworm larvae, and eradicate the adult stage of roundworm, whipworm, and hookworm infestations. The other active ingredient, Lufenuron, breaks the flea life cycle and prevents flea egg development. With Lufenuron, the majority of flea eggs are kept from maturing or hatching into adults, controlling the flea population by breaking the flea life cycle. 6 monthly doses of Sentinel will protect your dog for 6 months! Sentinel may be used alongside Capstar (sold separately), which will treat flea infestations.
Side effects, while rare, can include drowsiness, depression, itching, hives, vomiting, loss of appetite, seizures, or diarrhea. Should any of these or other symptoms develop, contact your veterinarian. Maintaining proper hygiene is crucial, since humans may contract hookworms and roundworms from their pets. Also important is to eliminate fleas and to abstain from feeding your pet any uncooked fish or meat. Cleaning up stools daily is recommended to prevent re-infection.
